A noteworthy change in Mary, who shows herself to be tenderly sentimental as a result of her feelings for Edmund. We may presume she's sincere, but....

If she is changing for the better, then she is redeemable. Her observation in several paragraphs that "You all have so much more heart among you" indicates appreciation of what is essential to Fanny and is followed by, "You give me a feeling of being able to trust and confide in you...."
